Depart from Oakdale, California
10:00 AM
The road was long , windy, and narrow.
We arrived at 11:30 AM
There was a one mile hike to get to the top of the waterfall. We thought, "no problem". As we started walking we quickly realized that it was about 100 degrees outside and the hike was completely uphill. If we were thinking clearly we would have realized that "duh" the top of a waterfall...of course it is uphill. I'm not talking just some little hill it was painstaking. The boys had to stop every so often just so they could breathe. There were people all around us sitting and resting all along the path. It was brutal.
There is a free bus to get anywhere you want at Yosemite. It is very cool.
Here we are waiting for the bus to come.
It was breathtakingly beautiful.
Below Gunnar was pouting on a rock and refused to move because we wouldn't get him the owl finger puppet he wanted. Good times.

When we finally made it to the top we realized it wasn't exactly the "top" of waterfall but just a resting spot to get water and cool off. We decided to stop there and not continue to the very tip top of the waterfall. There were others who continued on but most of the people turned around when we did and made their way back down.
We loved Yosemite and wished we had more than one day to spend there. It is absolutely beautiful.
We made it to our hotel, in Fresno, California at 7:50 PM.
