Academic Achievement

Coby received the "Academic Achievement Award" at school on Tuesday. We were so proud of him. He had been working hard and getting great grades.

John, Gunnar, and I went to the school assembly to see him get his certificate. He had to walk up and stand in front the school where he received a handshake from the principal, his award, and a pencil. He was the only student, this month, to receive this award in his class.

Coby with some of his best friends...
Mikey, Hinkley, and Rashard.
Good job Coby. You are so smart!!

twilight

The evening had finally arrived...twilight...the movie.
I was so excited all day that I actually gave myself a stomachache. I was worried that it wouldn't be good enough and that I wouldn't like it. I knew there was no way it could have been as good as the book but I still had high hopes.
I went with Deon, Donna, Kendra, and Etsuko.
Here is Deon and Donna in their seats waiting for the movie to begin. We were getting anxious.

We got our seats and then went to get some snacks.
Donna and me patiently waiting in line.We thought it was going to be really crazy, but it wasn't that bad at all. I wore my Twilight t-shirt and the closest thing to a vampire outfit I was willing to wear. The problem was you couldn't see the inside of my "vampire" jacket.
I know...I am a true dork!!
After the movie we went to Applebee's so we could discuss the movie (Kendra had to go home) .
I LOVED IT!!
So did everyone else. Etsuko was the only one that hadn't read the books. She thought it was amazing and now she is excited to go get the books and start reading.

We are sorry Kendra wasn't able to go to the restaurant with us.
We had so much fun talking and laughing. We stayed until about 1 in the morning. They had to kick us out. We weren't the only ones though so we didn't feel that bad. There was still a bunch of people there when we left.
I can't wait for the next movie to come out.

Edward was to die for (pun intended)!!

Crazy Day

Yesterday was a very busy day.
We started at home in Tacoma went to Fircrest, then Federal Way, then back to Tacoma, back to Federal Way then back to Tacoma, then home! Ugh!!

I got up early, got the older boys ready for school, got me and Gunnar ready, then headed out of the house at about 10:00 A.M.
First, Gunnar and I went to our friend Ginny and Stella's house, in Fircrest, to play.
Ginny and Stella

Gunnar carried Stella's baby around the entire time. He loved her.

He got a little busy so he asked me to babysit...seriously. Gunnar, Logan, and Rylan.

Right after the play date we drove to Federal Way to my moms house so we could go shopping for my sister-in-law's birthday present. We got a little side tracked for a while and were watching funny videos on the computer. Then my mom, dad, Gunnar, Isaiah, Lucas, and I went to Costco. We got lunch and then shopped. The boys were good but a little crazy.

I drove Isaiah home and went straight to my house to pick up Coby for his basketball game. I honked the horn and he came running out. I forgot that we were in charge of bringing snacks so we had to stop by QFC on the way to the Boys and Girls Club

...back to Federal Way.
Coby did such a good job at his game. He is so good!! They won! I think it was 17 to 5... or something like that.

Coby had:

3 baskets

6 amazing steals (if not more)

7 rebounds and

5 assists

This kid kept fouling Coby over and over. You should have heard my mom. She was going crazy. I still can't hear out of my left ear.
Way to go Coby!!

After the game John went home with the boys and I headed to Olive Garden for Sabrina's birthday party.
Lucas says, "Happy Birthday Mommy!!"
Like father like son

Presents!
Love you Sabrina!
After the party I headed back to Tacoma for an open house at Analisa's.
Analisa and Jen Webley are both starting their own little businesses.
They have the cutest stuff.

Analisa makes these adorable hair clips...

and many more! She also makes little bracelets. She has a ton of different styles and colors. Super cute.
Jen makes these amazing necklaces, bracelets and earrings. They are one of a kind and to die for. I wanted to buy so many. She has a ton of different styles and lengths.
I wound up buying this one. I love it. This picture doesn't give it justice but trust me they are gorgeous!!They are both going to be at the Meeker Bizarre this Saturday, November 22nd. Ashley will also be there with her Christmas booth. I am going for sure!

"Sugar Baby"

Grandma sent us this wonderful picture of her new baby. We love getting pictures of Grandma. We haven't seen her in such a long time. It is heartbreaking. John was able to visit with her last month...thank goodness.
The boys miss playing games with her and I miss our long conversations.
Hopefully we get to see you sometime soon Grandma. We love you!

Sugar Baby is soooo cute.

Total Poser

Gunnar was jealous because he didn't get a haircut therefor he wasn't in any of the pictures.

Poor guy...to bad he had to go to his friends birthday party instead. Life is rough when you're 5. He decided to pose so I could take some pictures of him also. He plopped down on these pillows and said "hey mom, don't you want a picture of me?" I couldn't resist.

Time for a haircut

John took Coby and Chance to get their haircut today. Coby was not happy about it. He wanted to grow it out even longer. Chance was ready to get his cut though. He was tired of doing it every day.
My handsome boys!

Chance before...and after.

Coby before...and after.
Much better!

Jason Mraz

My friend Kendra told me a few weeks ago that she and her husband had tickets to the Jason Mraz concert. I was so jealous. I didn't even know he was going to be in town. He sings that song on the radio right now called I'm Yours. I love that song and I absolutely love his music. I was even more jealous when she told me it was the acoustic version of his normal concert. That's my favorite...just guitar and voice. Kendra called me a few days ago and told me her husband wasn't going to be able to make it to the concert. I felt bad until...she asked me if I wanted to go with her instead. You can imagine how happy I was.
Last night we made our way to downtown Seattle. The concert was at the Paramount Theatre.
We found an awesome parking spot on the road. So we didn't even have to pay for parking. I was a little worried though, so I took a picture of the sign just in case we got towed.
We had to strategically sit because this was what was in front of us. I thought it was a joke.

It wasn'tKendra brought really good binoculars and we were able to see everything.

He was amazing. His voice is absolutely incredible. It gave me chills the entire night.

Kendra was so excited. She LOVES him.
It was very neat. I don't know if you can tell what is in his hand but at the end of all his concerts he brings out a Polaroid camera and takes pictures of his band and himself and throws them into the crowd. It was so cool.He was so entertaining.
Thank you so much Kendra. I had a fantastic night.

P.S. I have a few of his songs on my playlist if you want to check them out. One of them is a duet with Colbie Caillat.
