Rock Band and Jaime Bon Jovi

Me, Donna, Susan, Kendra, Betsy, and Therese
Kendra invited us over for a night of Rock Band. We always have so much fun and this night was no exception.
(Kendra was nice enough to put water in a shot glass for me so I didn't feel left out of the toast...HA!! thanks Kendra...so funny.)
Cheers!!Kendra had to give a quick guitar lesson to Susan.
Donna has a great voice...
The Band...

The drums are so HARD. You can see the concentration on my face.

Kendra is sooooo good at the drums. She even did expert...I can't believe it. I was awful at beginner.I got to make myself a Rock Band avatar. Her name is Jaime Bon Jovi and she is so cute. We had to play a few "gigs" so I would have enough money for the perfect outfit.

We had so much fun. I love these girls. Thank you Kendra!

Basketball

Coby had a game on Wednesday and it was his best game so far this year. He was on fire. He made a ton of baskets and he had incredible steals and blocks.
I took pictures, of course, but they didn't turn out in the gym.
They won by a lot.
Chance's game on Saturday was great. He is on a fabulous team with the nicest boys.
#12, Carston is 6ft 2 (I think). Chance is about 5ft 5. It is hilarious to see them side by side on the court. They were winning by over 40 points so they finally turned off the scoreboard in the middle of the game to put the other team out of their misery. Chance played awesome defense.
Grandma giving Chance some pointers...Why do you look so confused grandpa? Was it the reffing?I don't know if you can tell from Gunnar's facial expression but he was smiling so big.
He loves his grandpa.
Grandpa had three boys in his arms right here...Gunnar, Dustin, and Isaiah.Nice shot Chance!!

Melting Pot to celebrate.

Analisa's birthday was no exception.

Ashley, Jenn, Nancy, Suzanne, Stacy, Heather, Jaime, and (the birthday girl) Analisa

This time we got two cheeses...Mediterranean and Fiesta and three chocolates...milk, white, and dark. Yum!

I am so blessed to have these wonderful women in my life.
Happy Birthday Analisa!

Skating, Basketball, Vampires, and Wolverine

We had a fun filled weekend.

On Friday I took Coby to skate night with his friend Drew.
He had to have these awesome glasses...
Drew, Coby, Max, and Elijah

Pattison's West has changed a bit since I was a kid. Now if you don't get in-line skates...you aren't cool. So even though Coby felt like he had two broken ankles, he refused to change into the brown and orange roller skates that I used when I was a kid. It hurts to be cool...I guess.
I mean really...what is so bad about these...HA!

Chance had an awesome game on Saturday. He is doing amazingly well. They won!

Gunnar and Isaiah love to play together at the games. They would be so bored without each other. After Chance's game we had a few hours to burn before Sophie's game so as Gunnar was on his way to Isaiah's house to play...John and I took Coby and Chance to the movies.

Chance, Coby and I have been reading the Cirque Du Freak book series so when we saw that The Vampire's Assistant was playing at the $2 theater we couldn't pass it up. The movie was very different from the books so I was a little disappointed but it was still good...well...it was o.k. John didn't love it.

Sophie had a great game. Her team killed the other team and Sophie's shot is beautiful.

After Sophie's game the kids played around on the court. Gunnar has never showed any interest in basketball but he was having a great time. He was "dribbling" and even attempting shots. He told us he wants to play next year. I must admit, I am surprised. Out of all of my boys he has shown the least interest in sports. I am excited though because Uncle Dan will be his coach and he can be on a team with his cousins, Isaiah and Lucas.

After playing he was so sweaty that he was able to give himself a brand new hairdo...

I think it looks a lot like this guys...

We had a great weekend. I love spending time with my family.

Happy Birthday Jenn!

We celebrated Jenn's birthday this year with a karaoke party.

She has such an amazing voice. It gave me chills. She was totally sick and could barely talk, yet, she sang so amazingly well I couldn't believe it. After she sang Goodbye Earl by The Dixie Chicks I almost died...she is so good. I always knew she could sing, but are you kidding me...get her in the studio. She is a total country singer. She should make a CD right now. I'd buy it.
She sang better than these guys...

Adam (Suzanne's little baby) was Born to Rock!
Stephanie and Romi sang a gorgeous duet...Summer Nights.
Steph was Danny and Romi was Sandy.By request, I sang More Than Words...by these guys...Extreme.Stacy and Nancy did awesome! They both have great voices.Cake Time!
Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you!!I think this (see below) is what Jenn felt about us taking pictures of her. She is so cute though, how could we resist. Love you Jenn!
We had such a fun night celebrating Jenn's birthday. So many people came to help celebrate. Not pictured...Ashley, Analisa, Heather, Sheila, and Suzanne.
Jenn has great friends. Thanks to everyone for coming and making her night so special.

Happy Birthday Jenn!!

Fusions First Game

Coby was so excited to play his first game of the season.Nice shot Cobes...
Coby has so much fun playing on the same team as his cousin Malachi. It is awesome watching them on the court at the same time. They are so good and play really well together.

It was a very close game the entire time. But in the end...we won! I think by only one point. Oops, Romi informed me we won by 3!

I Loved These "Random Thoughts"

Romi sent me this funny email. I had to share because they are all so true.

Here are some goofy thoughts that we all have probably had but don't verbalize them - I can readily admit that I have had most of these thoughts many times...

* Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
* I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
* There is a great need for a sarcasm font.
* I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
* I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
* I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
* How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?
* I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!
* Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
* Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
* I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.
* I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
* Bad decisions make good stories
* You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.
* Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection. (Darn Blue Ray)
* There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
* I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my thirty page insurance policy that I swear I did not make any changes to.
* While watching the Olympics, I find myself cheering equally for China and USA . No, I am not of Chinese descent, but I am fairly certain that when Chinese athletes don't win, they are executed.
* I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Darnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?
* I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
* Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...
* Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
* It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.
* I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
* Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.
* I wonder if cops ever get ticked off at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit.

Funny!

Snow Falling and Chocolate

I had such a fun filled night last night. First, I had book club with some friends at La Fondita in Tacoma. We read Snow Falling on Cedars...really good book.
Me, Susan, Betsy, Kendra, and Donna
Then at 9:30 Jenn and Ashley picked me up and we went to The Melting Pot for happy hour. 1/2 off cheese and chocolate...yummy. Suzanne met up with us soon after we got there. We were so happy she could make it.
Fortunately, she missed the homeless man trying to steal food off of tables and then giving up and sitting down at an empty table to eat the complimentary mints (until he was kicked out) and the creepy man starring and smiling at us inside the restaurant and then going outside and peering around the corner of the building to look at us from the street, only to come back in and creep us out some more. Crazy!I had such a great night. Thank you, my friends.

Beau's MRI

Beau had his MRI early this morning. I was so nervous...I can't even begin to imagine how Beau and Melissa were feeling. Beau called at 9:20AM and when I saw his number I just about got sick. He informed me that he had his MRI. The doctor said his tumor hadn't shrunk any more...bummer...but he said it hadn't grown either. This is very, very, good news. He doesn't have to do chemo or radiation. YAY!! Beau also said that the doctor told him "he could live the rest of his life like this". Meaning he has a tumor and huge hole in his brain...but he will be able to live a "normal" life. Do you understand what this means? He could live to be a grumpy old man.
It is truly a miracle. I know it is because of faith and the power of prayer that Beau is doing so well. I am so happy!

Happy Days "Gig" #3

Chance had another show at Happy Days. Each time they perform they are better than the time before. They are so fun to watch. My dear friend, Kendra, came with her entire family. It was so nice of them and Chance was very grateful.
Her son, Bennett, and Gunnar had a few issues with all the noise. After Chance played his first set (and a few other bands played), Paul, the director of Chance's music association stood up on stage and announced some birthdays. One of the girls who was celebrating had "only one wish" for her birthday. That wish was to get a hug from Chance. "The guitarist for Society's Voice", she said. Chance was so embarrassed when he had to get up on stage. But he gave her her wish and fled off the stage. It was so cute.Chance's girlfriend, Carolina, was there but she didn't mind.
She was rather embarrassed, however, when I tried to take her picture.Coby brought a friend and they got to play some pool.Society's Voice closed the night out with some loud/obnoxious music. The crowd was having a blast. There was a group of girls dancing and then before we knew it there was a posh pit. The crowd was crazy but the boys loved it.

What a night!
