Happy 6th Birthday Gunnar!

Good morning birthday boy!
Gunnar wanted to open one present before the party. He had been counting down the days until his birthday. It was cool because his birthday party was going to be the same day as his actual birthday. How exciting.

Gunnar invited so many people. The problem with that was that it has been so hot here I was worried we wouldn't be able to breathe with so many people in the house. It was supposed to be a little cooler than the day before but I think it was still in the 90's...ugh!

Riley and Sophie were my special helpers.

Ready for cake?
Make a wish.

Coby in his Transformer mask and Ian sound asleep. I couldn't believe he was sleeping with so many kids running around. It was so loud but he slept right through it.

Gunnar would like to thank all of his friends for coming to his party.

Thank you Claire, Maya...

Bennett, Tori...

Lauren, Jiro...

Aunt Sabrina, Sophie, Isaiah...

Jory, David...

Aunt Rocky, Grandma and everyone else who came and helped Gunnar celebrate his 6th birthday. He had so much fun thanks to all of you.

Kisses for Aunt Rocky.

Gunnar, I just want you to know how much I love you. You are the sweetest boy in the world. I can't believe you are six years old already. Where did my little baby boy go? You are growing up so fast. At times it makes me sad because you are my youngest baby but I know that you are so excited to be going to school this year. I will miss you but your teacher is going to love you so much because you are so smart, nice and handsome.

I love you big 6 year old.

Build-a-Bear

Gunnar has always wanted to go to Build-a-Bear Workshop. His friend Tori had a birthday party on Thursday. He was so excited when I told him where we were going. Gunnar loves stuffed animals/"babies" so he was thrilled.

Here is Gunnar trying to pick out his bear.

Putting the heart in his bear.

Getting stuffed.

Gunnar and Tori were so excited with their new friends..."Stella" and "Jack".

Looking good !

Happy Birthday Tori!!

Thank you so much for inviting us to your party. Gunnar and Jack are inseparable.

G-Force and Burgers

We took all the kids to see G-Force the other day. Don't do it. It had a few funny moments but for the most part it was just... dumb (sorry for my language). The kids probably liked it but it was the worst Disney movie I have ever seen.
We took up the entire top row this time.
After the movie we headed to the yummiest burger place in Federal Way.
Burger Express

They have the BEST hot fudge shakes.

It was 103 degrees this day so the shakes hit the spot.

Coby had water in one had and a shake in the other.

It doesn't get better than that.

Post-op

Rocky, Romi, and I went to see Beau the Wednesday after his surgery. He was doing great. He was in a little/a lot of pain but he was still able to talk and joke with us. He looked wonderful, considering what he had just gone through.

His face was swollen and he had a black eye from all of the trauma to his head. He had to keep this cap on to cover up the majority of his incision but there was a little poking through the bottom. It starts at his ear and goes around his head all the way to the middle of his forehead. It is in the shape of a large question mark.

I cannot believe how great Beau is doing and, more importantly, neither can his doctors. As I am writing this post, on Saturday August 1st, Beau is at home and in his own bed. He went straight from the ICU at UW to his own bed. Can you believe it? He was so determined to go home yesterday that he even got up and walked around (with help from a walker). They weren't sure if he was even going to be able to walk or if he was going to have to have a lot of physical therapy. Well, he surprised everybody. Four days after brain surgery he was walking and wanting to go home. The drainage tube was removed from his head on Friday and they let him go home. I am so proud of him. It is going to be a long road but Beau is so strong and determined to recover quickly that he is surprising everyone.

You are an inspiration to us all Beau. Way to fight!
