Lucas the Barber

Gunnar had his cousin Lucas come over the other day. They were playing in the other room while I was watching the olympics. Lucas runs in and says "Aunt Jaime, look what Gunnar did...he cut my hair". My heart stopped. I searched his head for the evidence but didn't find any. I asked him where the scissors were and then yelled for Gunnar to get in the room. Lucas informed me that they hadn't used scissors. "Just water and a comb." I was so relieved. He asked if he could cut Gunnars hair next next. I told them they could use water and a comb but never scissors.

What a close call.

Lucas was very serious about his "haircutting job". It was so cute.

I guess Gunnar was getting wet from the water bottle so he went and got a towel/smock so he wouldn't ruin his clothes.

These two have so much fun together. I am glad they are so close.

Karaoke

Gunnar asked if he could sing a song to Jenn, his "girlfriend". In these pictures he is staring right at her and serenading. He made up a song with his own words and everything. It was about love of course. It was so cute. He is so in love with her. He has a great voice and he was even in tune. The piece of wood is a guitar in case you didn't know.

Jenn has a beautiful voice. She sang a Phantom of the Opera song and I had chills. I thought I was going to cry.

August 9th

We had our karaoke machine out the other day and the boys decided to "rock out".

It was hilarious. They were singing Bad To The Bone.

Chance was really playing his guitar. Coby...not so much.

Man, I love these boys. I am so lucky to have them in my life. They make every day fun and exciting.

Our football player...Coby

Coby has been wanting to play football for about two years. I have never let him...until now. He is super excited. He is playing for the Bellarmine Lions in Tacoma.

Coby knows he looks so awesome in his "practice uniform".

He practices Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights from 6-8 PM.

I went to his practice and now I know why I wouldn't let him play. It is awful They were practicing tackle drills and I almost had a heart attack. I thought I was going to cry. They hit each other soooo hard. Now, I have watched football my entire life and I know what it is all about but I never knew they would be hitting this hard at 10 years old. As I was watching, about three kids came off the field crying. Coby had to ice his shoulder yesterday. I am not so sure about this sport. Of course he loves it.

Kid's Day at Steel Lake Park

Gunnar and I went with our friends Odette and Stephen to the Steel Lake Kid's Day on Wednesday the 6th.

The first thing they did was play on the huge "big toy".

They had a bunch of craft tables for the kids to play at and they also had a bunch of booths where the kids could play games to win prizes. Gunnar had a great time.

Here, Odette and the boys were watching the "science guy" on stage while I was in line for cotton candy.

Cotton candy is my favorite so when Gunnar asked to get some I said "sure". I was unaware at the time that I would be spending almost 45 minutes in line. I was so frustrated. I wanted to just say forget it but then I had already been in line for so long I couldn't give up.

I got Gunnar's first and by the time mine was even finished being made...Gunnar's was gone...UGH!!

I was done at that point so we went home.

I asked Chance and Coby to go with us but like most things these days, it was "for babies". So they were both at friends houses. They would have liked it though. Despite what they think.
