Talent Show 2009

Chance and his best friend Zach decided to perform for this years ward talent show. They have been practicing and practicing.

Here they are warming up before the show.

This year the theme was...Night With the Stars so all of the performers were supposed to dress up. If they were singing an Elvis song they were supposed to dress up as Elvis etc. etc. We had Jason Mraz, Harry Potter, Colbie Caillat, and others.
Chance dressed up as Buckethead and Zach was supposed to be Slash but couldn't get a costume together in time.
The boys did an absolutely amazing job. I am so proud of Chance. He is a fabulous guitarist.

Performing Voice of the Soul...[video to come soon]

They were able to relax after their act and watch the rest of the show.

At the end of the talent show the boys had an encore...It was so nice of grandma and grandpa to come and support Chance. It meant so much to him. Thank you!!

I can't wait to see what the future holds for Chance.

Pioneer Day Picnic

Sophie and Riley came with us for our yearly church Pioneer Picnic. The very first game was the three legged race. Riley and Sophie didn't hesitate to participate. They were the first to volunteer. Coby grabbed John and they were ready for the race.

Almost girls. It was so close.

Sophie won in a game the prophet used to play.

I am not sure what it is called but we had to pick our opponent up off of the ground.

Of course I beat Coby. He was way stronger than I anticipated though.

Kayaking...

for the first time.

There was a watermelon eating contest but no one wanted to get a stomach ache so they stayed out of the competition. It looks like they would have had a pretty good chance though.

Gunnar was walking across the "icy river" like the pioneers had to. It was freezing!Tug of warPull Coby, Riley, and Soph.Gunnar spent well over an hour all by himself in this little river. The kids deciding if they wanted to go back in the cold ocean and
Chance with his friend Michael

Riley found this beautiful leaf covered with tiny little holes. She just had to bring it home.

3. Coby got a hamster
4. So You Think You Can Dance...Live
5. and we found time to go to the Puyallup Fair
(pictures to come)

We had our ward talent show on Friday. It was incredible. I can not believe how good people are. You see them every Sunday at church but you have know idea how amazing they are. Some people performed their talents and others displayed them. I displayed some artwork but Chance was brave and performed a guitar solo. I knew he was good but I didn't know how good he really was. I was in shock. He did an awesome job. I was so proud of him.

John was the MC and was super good and funny.
I wasn't able to get any good shots during the actual show. Here was the best I could do...
John was helping him set-up.
After his performance.

People danced, sang, juggled, played instruments...the list goes on and on.

Gunnar cheering everyone on.

After the talent show we had a cake decorating contest. I made a cake and it got this "special" award.

Cakeaward

We had some awesome cakes...WOW!!
