The ball dropping in Time Square.Happy New Year...
there was ton of people letting off fire works in our neighborhood. It was very cool. Our first kiss of 2009.
CheersI felt a little bit bad for Coby because we got two bottles of Sparkling Cider. I told him he could have an entire bottle all to himself. When we found out John and Chance were going to be home before midnight I had to tell him he had to share. He didn't mind though.Axle rang in the New Year with us.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot

And auld lang syne?

Translation...

Should old acquaintances be forgotten,

And never brought to mind?

Should old acquaintances be forgotten,

And days of long ago !

What is the meaning of this New Year's Eve Song? Auld Lang Syne is about old friends who have parted and meet again. To celebrate their long friendship, they share a drink together and reminisce of memories from long ago. The basic message is that we should not forget our old friends and should celebrate a reunion with them.

BUCKETHEAD

Chance was so excited for his very first concert and John was more than happy to accompany him. They went to The Spaghetti Factory for dinner before the concert. And, of course, I made them take a camera.Getting anxious.Smile!! Man...he is gorgeous. The concert was in Seattle at The Moore Theater (or is it Theatre).May I present you...BUCKETHEAD!!!!!!! They got a lot of pictures so I added some of the best ones here so you can see what he looks like.
Chance:
The concert was soo amazing! Me and my dad were close to. He played so many songs that I knew, and some that I didn't, as well. Further on in the concert, he started preforming with nunchucks and doing the robot. He also started giving presents out. That's when everyone started running for the front of the sage (since we were in chairs). I was only a couple of feet away from him, but I didn't get anything, but I didn't care . It was the best concert ever (since I actually have been to another concert before, nothing big though (a highschool Battle of The Bands). After the concert I bought a Buckethead shirt. Then me and my dad headed home for New Year.

When I asked Chance how it was he said "Mom, I can't even begin to describe it. It was that good". I am so happy for him. When I was his age I was in love with Bon Jovi. My mom wouldn't let me go to his concert (understandably so, thanks mom). I had to wait about 14 years to see him. I am glad Chance was able to see Buckethead though (way different than Bon Jovi). LUCKY!!My happy little boy after the concert.
In front of the theater.
Chance got a Buckethead t-shirt after the concert. It is very cool (well as cool as it can be considering it has a strange man on the front with a bucket on his head).

ROCK ON!!

Waiting for Midnight

Coby and I returned home from our movie and realized we had a long way to wait until midnight. We love playing games so we decided we would play as many as we could until 12:00.
We started with Some-R-Set. He beat me. Then we played a very long game of Phase 10. We both completed the 10th phase so it came down to 10 points and I won.

I was very proud of myself.

Next was Connect Four. We played about a million games.

We were going to take a picture of the winner each and every time but decided to stop after about the 10th photo. We ran out of poses.

Sequence was next in line. Coby won.

I was so mad because I just needed one more chip to win and I had the card so I knew I had the game in the bag but then Coby placed his his winning chip on the board and I lost.
For those of you who have never played this game...sorry...but for those of you who have, you know how devistating this must have been for me. So close...yet so far. Ouch!
Guess Who? We love this game.
Coby beat me the first round.

I beat him the second round.

After two rounds we were getting pretty tired and, thank goodness, midnight was just around the corner. We were excited because John and Chance called us from the road and said they were going to be home just in time for the ball to drop in New York. The Buckethead concert started at 8PM, in Seattle, so we were worried they would still be driving home at midnight. I was happy they were going to be home in time for the countdown.

JANUARY 2008

John and I had a good New Year. We went out to eat with my sister Romi and her husband Dan. Then we went to a movie and came home to watch the ball drop in New York with a very old and sad Dick Clark.
My favorite...sparkling apple cider! Yummy! The boys went to Romi's house where they had a little party with their cousins Sophie,Riley,Jory,Malachi, and Isaiah. Rocky was still in town so she stayed home and watched allll of them.
